Streetlighting

Last updated 20 July 2022, 11:58 am

We operate a network of streetlights throughout rural and urban areas.

Streetlights are maintained and serviced by our supply partners who patrol main roads regularly and repair faults, but we rely on residents to report faults in residential areas.

If a light near you is not working please contact us or use our Request for Service page and we will arrange for our supply partner to repair it. Please give a good description of the location of the light, such as a street address, and a description of the problem.

If the light is on a State Highway please contact the New Zealand Transport Agency.

Lights in private lanes or right of ways are jointly owned by the adjacent properties. Power and repair charges are the responsibility of the property owners. In this situation, you will need to contact an electrical contractor for assistance.
