Our ePlan is our new online view of our District Plans, including the Operative and Proposed District Plan.

How to navigate the District Plan 

The Table of Contents navigation panel on the left side of your screen provides a list of our District Plans.

To expand a District Plan document, you can either click on the expansion arrow (to the left of the headings), or you can click on the District Plan/Section heading itself.

The District Plan/Section heading will show in underlined red font to confirm which page of the Plan you are currently displaying.

To open a District Plan or part of the Plan in a new window tab, right mouse click on the Plan/Section heading and select Open link in new tab from the pop-up menu.

How to download the District Plan

Sections of the District Plan that can be downloaded will display with a Download PDF button.

When you click on the Download PDF button a Downloads window will show when your document is ready to access.  Click on Open file.

 
For documents that are available in PDF format only - Double click on the document file heading/title or click on the Download text below the PDF file icon to display on-screen.

How to search a section or word within the District Plan

Use the Search bar to look for a word, term or rule reference in the District Plan.   For additional search options, click on the Search Settings icon.

The Search Settings icon will enable you to choose either Selected section and/or Types of searches. 

Selected section

  1. Not checking this option will run the search across all the Proposed District Plan – Appeals Version, Operative District Plan – Waikato Section and the Operative District Plan – Franklin Section documents.
  2. Option checked and a District Plan highlighted in Table of Contents will search all areas of the selected Plan.
  3. Option checked and a Section of District Plan highlighted in Table of Contents will search that Section and subsequent Sections/Parts thereafter in the District Plan to the end of the document.

Types

  1. Like – will show results where the search word makes up part of another word, e.g., searching for meter will return cemetery, diameter etc.
  2. Contains – will show results for the specific search word, term or rule reference, e.g., searching for meter will return meter or meters.
  3. Form of – will show results where the search word is either the beginning or the end of a word, e.g., searching for meter will return metering, diameter, parameters etc.

Click on the magnifying glass icon to run your Search.

How to search

Your search results will show the Titles and/or the Content where your word, term or rule is referenced; and how many instances it is referenced in each of these. 

Titles results are displayed at the top of the search results section.  Content results are displayed below any Title results.

The search results will also display details of the document pathway where the word, term, or rule is referenced. This pathway makes it easier to see in full the District Plan, Part and Rule(s) of your search result.

Click on any of the search result options displayed to navigate directly to that part of the District Plan. 

Click on Titles or Content to move to that section of the search results.

To close the search results, click on the X to return to the District Plan content.

Using Definitions

Definitions are defined terms used throughout the District Plan. 

Terms with definitions available are displayed with a dotted underline for easy identification.

Click on the underlined term to display a Definition pop-up.

To close the Definition pop-up, click on the X in the top right-hand corner.
