Park Road – Horotiu Road intersection will be open from
Thursday this week (19 September) as the Horotiu Link Road project nears completion.
Traffic will no longer have to use detour routes as
Horotiu Road over the railway line to Gt South Rd will be temporarily open
while developer agreements are being finalised.
Once that agreement is finalised in the coming weeks,
the link road through to Northgate Business Park and Great South Road at the
traffic lights will be open and the railway crossing permanently closed.
Preparations to open up the intersection are taking
place early this week including: raising manhole lids and sealing a trenchline,
asphalting and building speed table ramps.
On Thursday morning line-marking will take place and
then the intersection will be opened up.
All of the above is weather permitting, but the team is
confident it can all get done for Thursday.
There will be traffic management in place and a barrier
at the start of the link road itself will remain until the developer agreement
is signed off.
