Do you have old phones, computers, monitors and other e-waste that you've been meaning to get rid of?

We hold one-off e-waste drop-off's throughout the Waikato district, providing our communities an opportunity to dispose of unwanted electronic items.

Recycling electronics helps stop harmful chemicals like lead, mercury, and cadmium from getting into the soil, water, and air. It also helps keep the community safe and clean.

If it's gathering dust, tangled in cords, or hasn't been switched on since forever, it's time to let it go. Bring your unwanted electronics along and recycle them the right way. 

We've partnered with Green Gorilla to hold a one-off e-waste drop-off and providing our communities an opportunity to dispose of unwanted electronic items.

FAQs

Funding from the Ministry for the Environment has been placed into our Waste Minimisation Fund. This, not general rates, is used to fund waste minimisation initiatives throughout our district.

E-waste contains valuable materials like metals that can be recovered and reused, as well as hazardous substances that should not go to landfill. Recycling helps protect the environment and conserves resources.

Yes. Please delete or wipe all personal data from computers, phones, and other storage devices before drop-off. The transfer station is not responsible for data security.

No, this event is for only households.
E-waste is collected and sent to an approved recycler where materials like metals, plastics, and glass are recovered, and hazardous components are safely handled.
