Unfortunately an error occurred on Tuesday 20 August while processing our dog registration reminders. As a result, 354 registration reminders included details about another customer. This information included the person’s name, address, dog’s name and dog breed.
These letters arrived in people’s mailboxes on 22 August.
We have contacted 228 customers and are still working on contacted the remaining 126 customers. We encourage people to make sure their contact details are correct. They can do this by phoning 0800 492 452.
We have also contacted the Privacy Commisioner to let them know about the situation. Customers concerned about their privacy are encouraged to contact the Privacy Commission.
We are sorry that this error occurred. Our customers’ privacy is very important to us and we will be reviewing our invoicing processes so that it doesn’t happen again.
