Following the tragic accident involving a young boy at Wainamu Beach in Raglan, tangata whenua have placed a Raahui on Wainamu Beach (also known as Ocean Beach) leading toward the mouth of Raglan Harbour.
Out of respect for this young boy’s whanau and wishes of tangata whenua, access to Wainamu beach from Riria Kereopa Memorial Drive will be closed to the public. This includes the car park at the end of this road. This will be lifted on Friday 18 January.
