Waikato District Operative Plan and Waikato District Proposed Plan
The National Policy Statement on Urban Development Capacity 2016 directs the council to incorporate minimum targets for sufficient, feasible development capacity for housing in the district plan by 31 December 2018. This change is made without using the process in Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA).
In accordance with section 55(2A)(b) of the RMA, the Waikato District Plan was updated on 18 December 2018 to meet this mandatory requirement.
