We take emergency management seriously!

Last week staff participated in the nationwide Civil Defence exercise 'Ruu Whenua (earthquake)' - The goal? To test our readiness to respond to an Alpine Fault earthquake.

The next severe Alpine Fault earthquake could take place within our or our children’s lifetime. By simulating our response to a major earthquake and its ongoing impact, we can ensure and improve our ability to respond to and recover from emergencies.

This includes working with and coordinating a multi-agency national response and even international support.

Our team works hard to ensure we are ready to provided support to our communities and ensure an effective and efficient delivery of emergency management within the Waikato region.
