The Waikato Ambassador Programme is coming to Tuakau

Hamilton and Waikato Tourism are calling for business owners, employees, and individuals to step up and play their part in promoting our district by participating in the Waikato Ambassador Programme workshop.

Providing cutting-edge expertise and specialised knowledge to help businesses promote the Waikato district with confidence and stand out against the crowd, the workshop is taking place in Tuakau on Wednesday 14th June.

Designed for anyone who engages with domestic and international travellers, this three-hour workshop will delve into the history of our area. Teaching attendees how to enrich the experiences of those visiting the Waikato district and wider region by showcasing the unique aspects it has to offer.

“If you come face-to-face with holidaymakers, this workshop will help you gain greater confidence in connecting with customers by showcasing our amazing district with pride and knowledge,” says Kelvin Forsman, Economic Development Advisor at Waikato District Council.

“If you’re born and bred in the Waikato district or are new to our buzzing area, learning more about the beautiful place we call home and understanding how to best share it with others will help you provide visitors with top-quality experiences, taking your business to the next level,” Kelvin says.

“Whether you work in hospitality, tourism, retail, or any other customer facing industry, the responsibility to promote our district falls on all of us.”

By taking part in the Ambassador Programme, attendees will get the chance to build community connections, discover new attractions, learn how to enhance visitor experiences, ask questions, and network with peers from across the motu.

“Our past workshops have generated exciting discussions where attendees have learnt about the best places to eat and new things to see. This provides a unique opportunity where business owners, employees and individuals can come together to provide travellers with the best experiences within our district,” Kelvin says.
