Assessing the extent of storm damage on our rural roading network is progressing with geotechnical investigations currently being undertaken on major slip and slump sites in the district.
Waikato District Council has engaged Pinnacles Civil to drill and investigate the stability of the ground under roads at a number of sites.
These include:
Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road
Onewhero-Tuakau Bridge Road (3 sites)
Wairamarama-Onewhero Road
Ohautira Road, Waingaro (2 sites)
Tahuroa Road, Tauwhare
Brien Road, Wairamarama
Caie Road, Mangatawhiri
The geotechnical investigations will inform the extent of work required to undertake long-term repairs, and will also contribute towards priority decisions.
