Butchers Bridge Road, near Waiuku, will be closed to through traffic for three weeks from 8 May so that a washed-out culvert can be replaced.
The culvert, over the Wairoa River, was damaged during Cyclone Gabrielle.
As the photos show it’s an extensive repair job that is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month (weather permitting).
Access will still be available for residents, waste services and emergency services either side of the culvert site.
The detour for through traffic is via Codlin and Smith Roads.
