On 24 February 2023 Council approved our submission on He mata whāriki, he matawhānui (the discussion document on the Review for the Future of Local Government). Both the submission and the cover letter from Mayor Jacqui Church, are attached.
The next step is for the government-appointed independent panel overseeing the Review to consider all submissions and provide a final report with recommendations to the Minister of Local Government on 19 June 2023.
