New-look Huntly Library and Office open again to the public

The new-look Huntly Library and Office re-opened to the public last Tuesday [Note: 25 October] with hundreds coming through the doors to check out the new space.

To celebrate the occasion, a colouring competition, balloon animals, a special visit by Charlie Brown the dog, giveaways, spot prizes and library tours were organised.

Everyone through the door on Tuesday went in the draw to win a Samsung tablet computer. The lucky winner of this prize was Weston Rameka.

A Samsung Galaxy A3 mobile phone kindly donated by Spark is also up for grabs for those who make suggestions on what to name the new meeting room. Entries close on 21 November with the winner and the new name announced on 25 November.

Now that the Huntly Library and Office is again open, Customer Delivery Manager, Angela Parquist says a big thank you must go to the public who were very patient while the library and Council services were temporarily located elsewhere.

“It was fantastic to see everyone so happy with our new-look library. It made the hard work put in to creating such an amazing space all the more worthwhile,” Mrs Parquist says.

The Huntly facility will remain cash-free until the end of October, with only eftpos and cheques accepted. Toddler Time, SKOOB and Book Chat have also resumed as normal.

So if you haven’t yet popped in for a look, make sure you visit the new-look Huntly Library and Office when you’re next in the area.
