Refuse and recycling service changes to be presented at Central Waikato community board and Committee meetings

The public is encouraged to attend a range of Central Waikato community board and committee meetings over the coming weeks to hear first-hand about the upcoming changes in the way that refuse services are delivered in the district.

The meetings will be an opportunity to come and listen to the Council’s Less Waste Saves More project team, who will be giving a presentation to the committees outlining changes to the services in the area from 1 July, 2016.

These changes will include a weekly recycling collection of two Council supplied crates per household and a collection using pre-paid stickers on any 60L bag.  Residents will also be able to utilise an annual phone in inorganic collection service.

These are important changes to refuse and recycling in the central area of the district which will be of great interest to local residents, Waikato District Council General Manager Service Delivery, Tim Harty says. “I encourage everyone to attend this community board meeting to learn more about how this change in service will affect you.”
