The Waikato District Council Alliance has begun work to repaint Tuakau Bridge.
The project is expected to be completed over the next five to six weeks, weather depending. The bridge will be water blasted with any debris being contained and removed from site to prevent cleaning chemicals and paint particles entering the Waikato River. Any minor surface defects will be repaired and the bridge will then be repainted a similar colour to original.
During the process there will be traffic lights on the bridge controlling vehicle movements, which will cause some travel delays throughout the project.
