ANZAC Day services 2022

ANZAC Day honours our returned servicemen and women, and others who have died in conflicts and peace-keeping efforts around the world. 

Below is information about the services being held in the Waikato District for on ANZAC Day, Monday 25 April 2022. We ask that you please arrive early and allow time to find a park.

 

Ngāruawāhia

Dawn Service: 6am at The Field of Remembrance, Great South Rd. (opposite St Pauls Primary)

Wreath laying ceremony: 1pm at The Cenotaph, The Point Reserve

Tuakau

Parade and service at Central Park starting from 10.15am

Huntly

Meet at the RSA, William St, Huntly from 5am onwards to join the march to the Cenotaph on Wright Street at 5:45am.

Dawn service begins at the Cenotaph at 6am.

Pōkeno

The parade will begin at 9am, parking is provided at the Pokeno Truck Stop.

Port Waikato

Service at 9am at Port Waikato Fire Station.

Gordonton

Dawn service at 6am at Gordonton Hall.

Maramarua

Assemble at the Red Fox Tavern at 8:50am for a 9am service.

Raglan

Raglan ANZAC Day service will be held at 11am at the Cenotaph, Bow Street, Raglan.

Eureka

Service will be held at 9:30am at the Cenotaph, Eureka Hall, SH26.

Mercer

A commemorative ceremony at dawn (6am), located at the Mercer Turret, 9 Roose Road (in front of the old Mercer Fire Station)

Te Kauwhata

Civic parade: Assemble outside Motuls Garage, Mahi Road, Te Kauwhata at 5:45am

Service: 11am at the Soldiers Memorial

Waerenga

A community service will be held at Waerenga Church on Sunday 24 April at 7:30pm. You will need to register for attendance. Please check the Te Kauwhata Community Facebook Page.

Taupiri

No service will be held in Taupiri for 2022.

 

COVID protocols 

Please ensure you are up to date with government advice and restrictions as provided on the Unite Against COVID-19 website.

Alongside these, we please ask that you take the following into consideration:

  • Mask use is not mandatory, but we encourage you to wear them if possible
  • Social distancing  is not mandatory but we encourage you to social distance where possible
  • Please maintain an appropriate standard of hygiene, and we welcome you to use sanitiser where provided
  • If you are sick, please stay home.
